The Audio-Technica AT-LP60X-GM is a fully automatic, belt-drive stereo turntable designed to provide simple vinyl playback without requiring manual tonearm operation. It is part of Audio-Technica's popular AT-LP60X series and is finished in the Gunmetal/Black colour combination. The turntable uses a DC servo-controlled motor and supports the two most common vinyl speeds: 33-1/3 and 45 RPM. Its aluminum platter provides the rotating platform for records, while the belt-drive arrangement separates the platter from the motor.
The fully automatic mechanism is one of the AT-LP60X's defining features. Selecting the appropriate record size and pressing the start control initiates playback automatically. At the end of the record, the tonearm automatically returns to its rest position, reducing the need for manual handling. The AT-LP60X incorporates an integrated VM-type cartridge, and its stylus can be replaced separately with the ATN3600L. This makes routine stylus replacement possible without replacing the complete turntable. Another useful feature is the built-in switchable phono preamplifier. The output can be configured for either PHONO or LINE operation, allowing the turntable to work with equipment that has a dedicated phono input as well as systems with conventional line-level inputs.
The phono preamp provides a nominal 36 dB of gain with RIAA equalization. The AT-LP60X-GM has a compact footprint and weighs approximately 2.6 kg. Its removable hinged dust cover helps protect the platter and tonearm when the turntable is not in use. The combination of automatic operation, simple connectivity and compact construction makes it particularly suitable for casual listeners and newcomers to vinyl.
